- Hydrogen Peroxide kills bacteria, the good along with the bad. Healthy bacteria is needed to prevent infections and keep the skin healthy.
- It creates necrotic tissue - that's a fancy way of saying it creates dead flesh.
- Plus we now know that hydrogen peroxide SLOWS DOWN THE HEALING PROCESS. Not good.
So what to do instead?
- Immediately wash with a basic soap and water to clean the cut or scrape.
- Apply a triple antibiotic ointment, like neosporin.
- Cover it with a sterile bandage.
If the cut or scrape turns bright red, hot, painful, oozes pus or gets bigger you must see your Doctor immediately!
What CAN you do with that hydrogen peroxide?
