Are all chemicals toxic? What you need to know

The Beauty Care product industry is a sea of opportunity, with huge financial rewards for those who play the game. That game is baiting us, the consumers, with the lie that "ALL CHEMICALS ARE BAD!"  And we've been hooked. We are being reeled in for HUGE PROFITS for the Advertisers and Manufacturers. But it is an outrageous waste of money, time and anxiety for US.

I am not a fish! (Must blog about saying that to a spa equipment rep and the look on her face. Priceless.) I am tired of flopping around on the end of their line and watching my clients do the same. So here is the bold faced truths about CHEMICALS.

"Chemicals: Friend or Foe" Blog Series.

  •  Chemicals are not evil, nor are they your enemy
  • All chemicals are not artificial
  • It is impossible to have chemical-free skincare, food or air

1st we must understand what is a chemical.

Definition of chemical: when two or more atom combine together with a CHEMICAL bond.
They are the building block for every molecule and every object/ingredient in our world

    Therefore:
    • Chemicals are EVERYWHERE
    • Chemicals are in EVERYTHING
    • Going chemical-free means avoiding anything that contains an ATOM  (which is naturally impossible)

As consumers we want to be good to our health. So we exercise, eat better and avoid ingredients and incidents that are unhealthy or dangerous. This is noble and valid pursuit. It is because of this that our emotions are being played upon and our pockets are being emptied.

My challenge to you is to rethink about what you EXACTLY mean when you say you don't want any chemicals in your skincare or you want to avoid chemicals in your food? What are you actually wanting to do? How else would you explain your goals?

When we can clarify what we mean then we have better luck in accomplishing our goals.

This series is Chemicals friend or foe, #chemicalsfriendorfoe. With this discussion we can help each other discover how to improve our well-being while jumping out of the net of lies marketers have cast over us.

p.s. Next blog is on the what is Organic? How is it defined? And the "sneaky secret about Organic skincare marketers don't want you to know" on Chemicals: Friend or Foe.

UPDATE: Fear is being used to sell us on "better" products but much of that info is marketing. Make better buying decisions when you know the facts.

I did something wacky...again. Signed up for another daily writing challenge. Last time it was the NaNoWriMo. Goal? Write 50,000 word fictional novel in in a month. No finished novel but learned a lot. This time its NaBloPoMo through BlogHer.com. Theme for March is (more info from BlogHer about this challenge)....NEWS. My goal is to become a better blogger/writer. The only way to do that is with your feedback. So I look forward to your comments and suggestions. Thanks, Michelle
