Get the most out of your next bikini wax
Hot weather is already here in Southern California and we are dreaming of tropical beaches and a refreshing dip in the swimming pool. So just in time for bikini season here are 9 easy tips to get you ready for great results from your next bikini wax. (Also great tips you need to know for all types of body waxing)
Before Waxing
Stop shaving
Stop shaving for 10 to 14 days before you appointment. Ideally you need 1/4 to 1/2 inch hair growth for the best result
Exfoliate.
Gently remove dry dead cells in that area 2 to 3 days before waxing. A great tip from Erin; she uses our disposable Exfolia sheets to exfoliate and lift up the hair from underneath and she get a better, smoother results.
Perfect Pre-wax exfoliating sheet
Keep Hydrated, inside and out.
Drier skin is more sensitive to waxing while hydrated skin leads to better results. Apply gentle, unscented body lotion daily, the Power Hydrator works great.
Avoid drying lotions such as toners with sd alcohol on your bikini line.
Avoid caffeine, alcohol and aspirin right before your service because stimulants, pre-sensitizers and blood thinners are not a good combination with waxing.
Best day for your appointment
If you are close to your cycle your are more sensitive. So schedule your appointments at least 2 to 3 days before or after your cycle for a better experience.
After your Waxing appointment
Post wax Breakouts
For clients prone to post-wax breakouts we offer a post-wax germicidal treatment that can help prevent them. Let your esthetician know that its a concern for you.
Avoid heat and Sun
For 48 hours after you wax avoid sun, tanning beds, saunas, hot water such as hot showers, Jacuzzis.
Sorry, no exercise
For 24 to 48 hours also avoid intense exercise, sweating and tight clothing.
Exfoliate
Continue to gently exfoliate the area a couple times a week with a body scrub, Disposable Exfolia Cloth or exfoliating body wash with Glycolic acid.
Protect post wax skin
Protect your skin with sunscreen to a prevent a burn on the exposed post-waxed areas, such as your bikini line
Always stay hydrated during the summer months. If you don't like plain water try Spa Waters you can make yourself. Drink caffeine-free or herbal teas. Or try water-rich foods, like watermelon, just don't overdo the sugar intake.
Have you used any of these pre and post wax tips before? Which one did you find to be the most useful?
