Do you know how to combat muscle pain?

Prevent muscle aches and pain with this one simple trick from Skincare Solutions by Michelle

Easy step to keep you pain-free and healthy

When I moved out here from Ireland I thought the winters were delightfully warm. It wasn't very damp, unless it rained, and the cold weather didn't feel very cold. But after a couple of decades I am a true Californian and have to find my warm, thick cardigans when the barometer veers down to 65F.

"Baby, It's Cold Outside." How to use one simple trick and be pain-free.

Living in Southern California means you get a sudden weather change. From triple digit heat one day to cranking up the heater the next. We don't get any sympathy. But the sudden change does bring with it a host of problems. The worst? How it impacts our bodies leaving us in pain. We have a have a great tip.

"I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice."

Do you have certain trouble areas? Spots that tend to hurt, feel stiff or aching. Your neck? Shoulder? Back? Fingers? Those recurring problem areas are the first to flair up when the weather changes.

This one easy tip will keep your body pain free

"Say, lend me coat."

The one trick to remember this fall and winter is to keep it covered. Basically keep that problem spot protected, especially when outside. The means scarves around your neck, cardigan over your shoulders and back, and gloves on your hands.

Allowing "ouchy" areas to get chilled or cold, even briefly, can cause it to flare up and leave you in pain. By keeping the problem areas warm, you keep yourself comfortable and pain-free.

Layering clothing is a handy So Cal trick. So as soon as the area feels chilled or if the muscle starts to tighten up, it's time to cover up.

Absurdly simple way to keep the cool weather from causing muscle aches and pains

"Baby you'll freeze out there."

Unfortunately I forget to grab a cover-up when the morning is clear and comfortable. Do you forget to bring a jacket or scarf with you too? Follow this tip: Go right now, grab your extra sweater or scarf and toss 'em in your car. That way you will never catch a cold shoulder again.

"Oh, but don't you see."

A final note. If still forget your jacket and flare-up, a hot pack will help soothe that discomfort. But a massage will really bring you back to your feeling-great self.  Next week we will go over a massage favorite: Hot Stone Massage, and our detoxifying twist to traditional hot stone.

PS: Had way to much fun using lines from the song "Baby It's Cold Outside" as my minor headings. It may be the cold weather getting to my brain. Or is it "Chilly makes me SILLY"- ha ha, pun queen strikes again!
